LWV Town Council Candidates Forum – March 24, 2010

March 23rd, 2011

The two candidates for the Centreville Town Council, Bob Elliott and George “Smokey” Sigler, will participate in a pre-election forum Thursday evening, March 24 at 7 p.m. at the Board of Education Building on Chesterfield Avenue in Centreville. The forum, which is free and open to all, is sponsored by the Queen Anne’s County League of Women Voters. The candidates will have the opportunity to tell about themselves and then answer questions posed by the League and questions from the audience.

Town Council terms are for three years. Neither candidate is an incumbent. The election will be held Monday, April 4.

The League of Women Voters gives a number of questions to the candidates in advance of the forum so that the candidates would have an opportunity to consider their answers carefully. These questions concern taxes, issues involving the YMCA/County Complex, accountability, plans for the Centreville central business district, and communication. Both candidates will be given the opportunity to answer these questions. The floor will then be open to the audience members to ask their questions of the candidates.

The League requests that there be no campaign literature or paraphernalia inside the building.

The Queen Anne’s County League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization whose membership is open to all citizens, women and men, of voting age. Its mission is to encourage the informed participation of voters in the democratic process.

Harley Davidson Softail Bagger

February 12th, 2011

This one of kind Softail started life as a silver 2000 Harley Davidson Deuce.

It was converted to a bagger style bike by swapping in a chrome 2000 Fatboy front end on it, a rear fender and struts from a 2007 Fatboy and Ultra Classic saddle bags mounted with the “Bagger Tail” system from Cycle Vision.

The bike has a Zipper’s Performance 107″ engine(123 hp & 125 lb/ft) with a Mikuni 45 mm carb, an Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner, a Jagg oil cooler and Vance & Hines True Duals for Softails.

The sheet metal and saddle bags all received a new H-D vivid black paint job last year when the bagger conversion was done.

It also has 18″ 50 spoke “Fat Daddy” wheels from DNA on it with matching brake rotors and Metzeler tires (130 front/180 rear), a chrome layback license plate mount and frame, a smoked Kuryakyn LED tail light with integrated turn signals, a H-D handlebar mounted tach, a 7” chrome rocket-style headlight, a Plug & Play sissy bar mount with medium H-D sissy bar and a wide H-D backrest pad.

The majority of the custom work was completed by Eastern Performance Cycles in Gambrills, MD

It currently has only about 8,xxx original miles.
